New universe version crashes old WEBI reports

We are using SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.0
Patch 5.1. We have created some reports with WEBI on universe based on
OLAP connection to local SQL database.
There were some changes of the SQL database. After refreshing data
foundation and business layer, we have published universe to our CMS
(with the same name as the old one).
Then we tried to open our existing reports on that universe and we got
error:
„Error when trying to refresh the current report. “

Also we have tried in WEBI to go to Data access->Tools->Change source
We then get message:
„Unknown Error in SL Service (WIS 00000)“

We tried also „Choose an existing data source from the document“
and „Specify a new data source“

When we try to create new report on this new universe it is working
fine. Also we have tried this on Bi launch pad and it is the same. We
get error meesages mentioned above.

So the problem is only with the reports already existing on old
universe.

Is this normal behaviour? Do we need to create these reports again from
the scratch?

You are running a very old patch. There have been issues with this functionality for as long as I remember.

Maybe review the following fixes in the following post to see if it is fixed in a later version.

“Change Data Source” or “Change Data Source OLAP” should find the relevant ADAPTS, if they exist.
