We’re just experiencing this problem now. When you installed Net 8 first,

then SQL Net 2.3, you were gpf’ing on a ping with a Net 8 connection. Did
you
ever get this resolved ?
Does anyone have a resolution for both Net 8 and SQL Net 2.3 on the same machine ?

I have heard something from one of our customer companies about this problem. They informed me that they have resolved their problems (I think the message they had was ‘no listener’ type errors) by maintaining two copies of TNSNAMES.ORA: one in $ORACLE_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN\ and one in $ORACLE_HOME\NET80\ADMIN.
