Need to sort objects in Universe Designer

Hello Experts,

I was just wondering if there is any way to sort the objects in the Universe class structure (the left pane in Designer)?

Only manually, drag and drop, I’m afraid…

depends on how you create your objects.

i can’t describe it there but you can import objects from csv or xls file in your universe.
in this case, you just have to sort your lines in excel sheet before import them.

instead you’ve no other choice than drag an drop.

Hi,

Please note that default hierarchies depend on the order of objects in a class. So if you shuffle objects here and there you may break a hierarchy.

Marek, there is no hierarchy…so I dont think it will be an issue.

The import process is only good for a brand new universe. If you have an existing universe, that process will not work.

Ohh…no… My bad luck. :frowning: Its already having more than 1000Objects.

You would get duplicate objects unless you deleted all of them from the universe, before re-import, then they would lose their magic IDS…

That means - If we use this exported and reimported class and object universe for any new report development it will work, but all the report already created will stop working due to change in magic IDS.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

I am unable to find any option in my universe designer to export or import the classes and objects…
Can someone please let me know how and from where to do that…

You won’t find it there, its a utility in BOBs downloads…
