BusinessObjects Board

Multiple versions of Oracle on a Single Machine

Hi,
If I do have this architecture and I am using the (Oracle) OFA to set up different versions on a single machine, and it works. I have 9i, and 9.2. I am able to log in using TOAD to different version of DBs by selecting the appropriate Oracle_Home directory for each DB.

The problem is Business Objects is reading a 9.2, and my TNSNAMES in that directory isn’t setup for the DB I want to log into. I want to be able to log into the DB in 9i.

How can I point BO to read the Network layer in 9i as suppose to 9.2. I tried looking at the Oracleen, and Oracle file in BO, but didn’t see anything. I could have missed something. Comments.

As a result of multiple Oracle clients you have multiple ORACLE_HOME variables defined on your system. Oracle can handle that (hey, they built it  ), but BOBJ just blindly goes for the first ORACLE_HOME and sticks with it.
Use the Oracle program called HOME Selector to change the order of the Oracle homes.

See here for instance.
