Hello everybody, my name is Brent Houk and I have a user who is trying to generate a report with multiple prompts. (A situation in and of itself that is not difficult)
However, we are trying to figure out how you can create a report so that the list of possible values (in list) on the second condition are determined by the information selected at the first prompt. (basically an: If prompt A equals x, then display values y in prompt B)
BusObj tech support informed us that this information can be found on a “report scripts map,” which we have neither heard of or are able to locate.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This feature (prompt results related to other prompt results) is not supported with the simple “Type a new prompt” operator. You have to solve this using the scripting language, and pass the resulting lists back to the original query. It is not a trivial task.
The scripting map that the support tech is talking about is available on the web site www.busobj.com.

I have modified the list of values for objects to assist limited result sets. For example:
If you had a Human Resources DataBase and would like the users to query on SSN but the user is not familiar with the employee’s SSN. I modified the List of Values query for SSN: In the Select, I chose SSN and Employee’s Last Name. I set a condition for a prompt where Last Name is Like ? I would utilize the SSN object in a query and the user could type in the SSN if know or select values and be prompted for part of the Last Name. The SSN returned would only equal those selected by the Last Name condition.
I hope I followed your question correctly and the example helps. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Thanks-
Pam
