BusinessObjects Board

moving repository from one server to another

Hi all,

We are working on Business Objects 6.5 desktop products.
we are a team of 3 members , none of us has not much knowledge on Supervisior.

Our question is that we would like to move the Repository from Server A to Server B. We are using MS-Sql server as databases.

So please kindly let us know the steps to be taken for moving the repository from one server to another and also their consequences .

Thanks in advance,
Chaitanya

You will have to copy the repository schema from the server A to server B.
Then login to Supervisor, press admin button, select safe recovery option and point to the database string in server B. This will create a new BOMAIN.key file (name it as BOMAIN_serverB.key).
Copy this key file to two locdata folders as below on the Busobj server under the installation directory

C:\Program Files\BusinessObjects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 6\nodes\servername\bocluster\locdata

and

C:\Program Files\BusinessObjects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 6\LocData

Also copy it to the shared drive where the thick client users are pointed to
