month formula not working

Hi All,

i have to create a report in which i have to show the data month wise for all the months of a year entered by user.

i thought of using cross tab but it will return only data for those months which have some value.i have to show all the months, if no data in a particular month it should show 0.

so i thought of creating variable for every month and to use in the report columns

i created a variable for JAN month i.e

=if (=01) then count () else 0

but this is not working .
can any one help whats the problem.

How can I include data for all months in a crosstab, even if a particular month has no data? One way to do this is to create a second data provider using only the months. Then link (or “merge”) the second data provider (query) with the first data provider. Use the month column from the second data provider in the cross tab.
