Migrating from 6.1 to 6.5

Guys, Can some body help me with migrating problems

We 've been using 6.1 on windows 2000 server with IIS as webserver and Tomcat as application server…Now, we r trying to migrate to 6.5 on a windows 2003 server with IIS as webserver and Tomcat as application server…

It will be a fresh installation but we need the same configuration and user settings for the web and application servers that are used in 6.1…

Now…is there anything like backing up the config files from 6.1 and copying them in some folder in 6.5…(like install\server\config folder or some thing)…

any help would be greatly appreciated…

a) Do it a fresh installation, because it is the best, as your operating system is changing to Win 2003. You need not save or move any files from your old system. Do everything a fresh.

b) Import Universes from 6.1 and export to new 6.5 environment

c) Reports ‘Save for all users’ in 6.1, and open and save them in 6.5 environment.

  1. Keep a copy of your global report so that you can replicate the same on 65. (Also note down BCA settings so as to replicate the same)
  2. Backup the storage directory found under nodes/mycluster.

P.S: Since you will be deploying on a test machine and if you run into issues you know where to LOOK

Additionally, you can look for “IIS 6 and TOMCAT” bridging.
