Master-Master-Detail report problem

HI all,

I have a master-master-detail report with sections with in section. The main section is the “region” and sub-sections are “Field Offices”.

I performed sum and average on sub sections and I am getting perfect results. When I create a cell in the body of sub-sections to display the Average and one for Sum and copy the results from the sub-section footer i get different results. The formula for both the footer and the free standing cell is the same ie

Average( In Body) In (, )

When I analyzed the data, I fould out that while calculating SUM for the free standing cell, it is avoiding duplicates and for the AVERAGE it is performing the following calculation.

(SUM without including the duplicates)/(Count - duplicate occuraces +1)

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Kashif

You can’t do that with averages. You need the detail to calculate the average. The way you do it is to copy the whole block to the subsection and then use outlining to hide the detail.

Hi Saeed

You just copy the body and paste it in the Footer and use the Fold option
then you get the Correct Result 8)

Thanks Hassan bhui,

Nice idea Hassan bhui, it worked. I copied the body and used the Fold option in that, did some formatting and it worked.

Which company are you working for in Karachi? I am from Karachi as well

Thanks again,

Salam
