I want to construct a report with 5 tableblocks. These queries all have one field in common. I want this field to be the master of all the other tableblocks.
Create a query which includes the field you want to connect all of the other tables with. Create the table for this query. Then choose Insert/ Table. Choose the option to “Build a new query on the universe currently in use.” Select the variables you want to include (BE SURE to include the connecting field in each new table) and create the new table. Repeat this step for each table you want to include. Now select the connecting field in your first query and right-click on it. Choose “Set as master.” Business Objects will automatically create a section containing the connecting field and will display all of the tables, synchronizing the data in them to the data in the connecting field. You can then delete the connecting field information in the other tables, and, Voila! you have a master and multiple detail tables.
