linking queries from different universes

I’ve gone through three tutorials, a couple of dozen posts here, and I’m still just not getting it.

I have two universes: Servicing and Operations

Each has a dimension called Mortgage Loan Number

The main report is coming from the servicing universe and I need to get one field out of the Operations Universe.

Here are the issues I think are going on. The additional field is a dimension. To display it in the report, I need to change it to a detail. I can’t do this in the definition tab, so am not sure what to do otherwise.

Secondly, My Servicing Universe query has a prompt for a value. Will this then allow me to only return the matching values from the Operations.

Any suggestions for other places to look for answers

Have you gone through this?

Linking is linking, not joining. If you want the prompt to affect both queries, add it to both data providers.

I reviewed the synchronization presentation prior to asking for help. I’ve gone through the BO documentation and a Business Objects Bible. This is about the only thing I haven’t been able to figure out how to do yet.
