l have a report with linked dp. Both dp are the same universe. l am trying to add a column from one of the dp to the report and when l create a local variable, l dont get any error messages, but the insert button is grayed out. Meanwhile, both objects are dimension objects.

Please read the FAQ’s in the individual forums before posting, as this topic is discussed a lot.
I think you might get “Variables are not compatible” error when you try to insert or drag a dimension to the block.
