I try to link 2 hierarchies from 2 data sources in BO Reporter(5.1) :
DS1 : customer / city / region / country
DS2 : customer / fonction / service / department
The link is the customer’s ID. I thought normally the link is like a join (DS1.id_cust=DS2.id_cust) between the 2 universes, but it doesn’t work when i put too much dimensions (but with measures, it’s OK), when i use master/detail format. I get cartesian product ! I don’t understand this result . Is it a limit in BO Reporter ? If yes, must i solve this problem in BO designer (derived universes ?) ? thanks in advance for some advices.

It’s very interesting, and i think i begin to understand why it’s so difficult to obtain a result. But my question remain : is it a limit in BO reporter when we want to get several dimensions from 2 or more dataproviders ? I try to transform my dimensions into details, but i think it’s also limited in number and level. How can i walk around these limits ? with derived univers ? or should i multiply number of dataproviders ?
Finally my question is : is that possible to make a query “multi sources” in BO reporter without worry about number of data sources and their place, as if it were a unique query with classic joins, as if all were transparent ?
