Hi,
I was wondering if there was a French language BO Forum type thing out there (seeing as of course the French invented Business Objects). Or else a website other than Amazon that could recommend could French BO books?
Thanks,
BatCat (or Chat Chauve-souris )
I have seen languages other than English used on the BusinessObjects forum, the Knowledge Exchange (KX). You can sign up for it at www.techsupport.businessobjects.com but you need to be sure to select the âfree and openâ registration for the KX, and not the tech support site.
I believe that their policy is the same as BOBâs, that postings should be done in English. But I do think that I have seen some French language postings there as well.
Just to take this slightly off topic, has anyone noticed the recent addition to the tech support site - Japanese support! Do we have any Japanese members?
Thanks for the replies.
Itâs odd that all the boards should be in English (especially when there seem to be more and better books written about BO in French then there are in English).

Well, no offense but English is just the dominating language internationally (if one likes it or not, just stating a fact).
Regarding French books about Business Objects: Please, could you name a few (translate to English) with a brief summary about what they cover and how you rate them?
Hi Andreas,
I realise English is more widely used than French, but I just find it strange that no group of French speaking people ever set up a forum system similar to this one. Ah wellâŠ
I saw a few BO books on a recent trip to Paris, but was going to query on a French forum if this one âBusiness Objects et Web Intelligence 6.1 : MaĂźtriser le standard de la Business Intelligenceâ was any good as it seemed more up to date than the Cindi Howson book were are at present using.
Cheers,
BatCat
I donât know if the book is any good. I canât convince my boss to buy it for the team if only I could actually use it. French Business Objects book
