Importing values from text file

Hi

          how can i import the list of  values from personal data files to enter the values into prompt......


     Pls help me

[In Report] Go to Tool->Universe->Check for the universe on which you are designing the report.Then click the corresponding universe and then click list of values->Check personal Data .

Add the text file and then go to designer check for the object where you have added LOV and go to properties tab->Check the option “Export with universe”.

Now use the object in the report,when you use the objects in the prompts it will display the text file values.

If it’s a one-time thing, or if the list frequently changes, you may want to consider the options discussed here … Create an InList from an Excel spreadsheet. I know you are using a text file as a source, but you could open that file in Excel to use this technique.
