Identify Universes on existing connections

Hello

I am on BO XI R2. Is there anyway to find if there are any exisiting universes based on a existing connection ?

I have to create some report on a database, and I know the connection to the DB already exists in Universe. But how can I figure which universe might already be using the connection?

We have lot of universes, and going and checking each Uni connection is not feasible.

Appreciate the response

Hi,

This utility from the BOB’s Download section could help you:

Tks for the quick response Marek.

But when I click on ‘Document Connection’ button in excel I get a compile error saying ‘Cant find project or library’

Do you know if the file is broken?

Thanks
Namit

Sorry, but I don’t know.

Isn’t there anything mentioned in the related discussion?

Unfortunately , it doesnt. But I left a comment on that post asking, if they know if the file is broken…

Have you checked whether the project references all required libraries?

Sorry, how could I check that?

Open the utility in Excel. Open VBA Editor (Alt+F11). Go to menu Tools --> References. Here are listed all referenced libraries. In the first post of the topic where the utility is attached, there is a list of libraries that need to be included:
Crystal Enterprise Framework Library 11.5
Crystal Enterprise InfoStore Library 11.5
Crystal Enterprise Connection PlugIn 11.5

(the above libraries are for BO XI r2)

Ah k, I dont have them. Do you know where can I get them from?
Its not available in my VBA list of libraries…

I dont have Crystal or BO installed on my machine. Its on a shared server, but that server does not have MS Office installed on it.
How could I use the utility then?

Would I not have the libraries if I dont have Crystal installed on local?

Exactly. You need to have both (BO as well as MS Office) installed on a one machine - either on your local machine or on the server - so the utility can run.

Oh k , got it. will get the setup and see how it goes.
tks for helping out
