How to use custom functions in BO?

I need to use an oracle function in a select statement.

Can anybody help me to use it?

Thanks,

Ranjan

Hi,
Although you have posted the question in designer , I still want to ask, is the report a universe based or free hand SQL report.

If you want to have one oracle function in the select statement then use put the oracle function syntax in the select part of the object definition.
It will put in the select statement when the query is formed from the selected objects for a report.

Hope this clears your doubt. Else do revert back.

Hi Omkar,

The report is based on universe.

Is this that we need to create an object and put the function inside it?

any constraints for this or no isuues if we put that function inside an object.

Thanks,

Ranjan

Hi,
You juat have to put the function code which will be a object code when dragged in the report.

That link takes you to a report function guide, totally different to what was being discussed here - database functions…
