We depend on the universe which is provided by the supplier.
The have modified an existing object which causes problems when this object is used in a report.
The supplier won’t modify the universe. That means that I have to change the report(s) which uses this object.
Is there a way to see in which report(s) an object is used?
Since there is only one universe for which that particular object has to be searched in reports where it is used, check this utility (designed by Dwayne Hoffpauir) which lists series of objects in a set of reports kept in a file folder.
You can either manually search for the object by using filter after the above macro is run or enhance it to show a message box when that particular object in question is found.
There is no guarantee that you are going to have the feature of reading objects in WebI reports which is your actual requirement.
You cannot get such information as which report is depending on which universe unless you are writing custom code with the SDK.
If you have a “Professional” license key then you do not have auditing by default. Talk to your sales rep for getting a proper add-on license for this.
It’s included in the Premium license but is an add-on for the Professional license.
Once you get this there is a setup which needs to be done for creating audit database and later on deploy universes/reports.
