How to create derived tables within a Business Objects Universe for version 6.5.1? I’m new to building Business Objects universes in Designer. My supervisor requested that I learn how to create derived tables in case we need to create them in the future. I’m not knowledgeable about derived table and I certainly don’t know how to create one.
Hi, Just go to the designer. In the universe pane Right Click. Select the option of derived tables. Enter the name of the derived table and in the SQL expression section write the SQL or u can also make the SQL by selecting tables and columns and using operators and functions. After creating derived table be sure to drag to left window to create classes and objects or can create objects by using this derived table. In the SQL syntax of derived talbe remember the syntax should be
select table1 as A, table2 as B etc.
lucious, not to pick on you, but – did you consider checking out the manual before posting? The installation cd comes with PDF versions of the manuals, and I just have to think that the 6.5 documentation includes information on derived tables.
