How can I access the user folder reports via BI launch pad?
You can only access your own user folder and the reports located there using the BI Launch Pad. This is how Business Objects is designed.
If you have access to the CMC, and permissions on on users’ personal folders, you can access them there. But as John said, you cannot access them via launchpad, even if you have permission.
Technically, if you have rights to View other users documents in their personal folders, you can find them using the Search functionality in BI Launchpad IF YOU KNOW THE NAME of the document. However, as stated by others, you cannot navigate into other users’ personal folders area via the BI Launchpad.
It is possible for a BusinessObjects administrator to grant limited access to the CMC, which is typically called “delegated administration”. This would allow a “mere user” or “non-administrator” to be able to do research in other personal folders without full access to the CMC’s administrator functions. Keep in mind that it’s likely easier for somebody to query the Audit database via its universe when trying to identify “recently used reports”. Depends on why you’re asking for access to other people’s personal folders.
