Format Cell "Equal to Zero" does not take -

I am formatting my cells and in Equal to Zero and Undefined sections I am putting - (Hyphen)
BO does not take - in the Equal to Zero section where as it works fine in Undefined section.
If I write some other alphbet in Equal to Zero part it works fine.
It does seem to like only the -
How can I show that - (hyphen) in the cells having zeros.

Well, I just tried it, and I can confirm your findings. It allows anything other than a dash. I tried wrapping it in quotes (double and single), and it still wouldn’t work.

Then I tried it with an Alerter, and that worked.

Actually it’s very easy to do.

A - is a special character. If you want to put a - in you need to tell the format dialog that the - is not to be treated as a special character.

Use - and the - will show up. It just did for me.

We’ve used this when trying to format Social Security numbers or Phone numbers. that are stored in numeric fields.

Thanks, Steve! I had given up on this a long time ago.
