extract data from SSAS BPC cube through sap BODS

Hi All

We are trying extract data from SSAS BPC cube through sap BODS and also looking for the options. Please advise.

Only two ways I can think of would be either use some product that can connect to the cubes via OLEDB or access the underlying tables that the cubes are built from in BPC. They are kind of a pita, though. ODBC is not directly supported for SSAS cubes.

I am trying to create a link server for the SSAS BPC cube using OLEBD Provider and at BODS end using link datastore option trying to link the Link server and pull the data ,for which I am getting error as “Link server is not valid”.
Just wondering will this option work to pull the data from SSAS BPC cube. Please suggest.

I don’t think that would work, DS does not support OLEDB, even through linked servers. If you did a linked server to the underlying tables it would probably work, but at that point you might as well point to the tables directly.

The only person who could tell you for sure that would work (unless someone else out there has done it) would be SAP.
