I know I thought that this was fixed before, but for those of you that have been interested in exporting BusinessObjects documents to Excel and have objects with “special symbols” in them… here is a note from the release notes for 4.1.2.
Aside to BusinessObjects Tech Support: it would be handy to place the full release notes on the tech support web site. If I am given permission, I would be happy to display the release notes on our own web site.

When exporting to Excel a data provider with special characters like # in the column name, you may get a syntax error in the field definition.
No more problem with the following special characters: #, ., /, , ', _, (, ), {, }, +, ", $. They are changed to - (under line).
