Here you can find a wide list that can give Unhandled exception error.

Just a re-install would’nt always solve this issue, you might have to delete the registry keys and all…and then install BO again.

Thanks

Hi,

First of all thanks for your answer!!

When I tried to re-install the BO I first deleted the BO folder from my computer.

How else can I delete the register key and how can I replace the corrupt dll files if there are?

Thanks,
Irit

No, you didn’t need to delete the BO folder.

If you don’t know how to modify the registry – which is what you have to do to delete registry key(s) – I’d say that you probably should not be doing this. Modifying the registry when you don’t know what you’re doing could be dangerous to your entire operating system. Do you have a desktop tech support person who could help you delete the registry keys?

Hi,

I troubleshooted this kind of errors when i used to work with Business Objects,Sanjose.

There are multiple things tho check before just reinstalling BO,which i think is a wrong perpecption of many BO users.

b’coz this exception handling error causes due to many variety of reasons.there is no specifci reason why this error occurs.for ex: even while just creating the object this can be caused. :frowning:

The things to check is:

  1. check the OS
  2. database compatibility
  3. middle ware of the database compatible with BO version.
  4. check all the .lsi,.pdac,.sdac,*,BOMAIN files are existing.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

  1. delete the Bo folder in the desktop(not necesary if u dont think)
  2. first uninstall BO
  3. delete the registry keys(full cleanup)

HKEY-_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->BUSINESSOBJECTS->SUITE6
HKEY_CURRENT_USER->SOFTWARE->BUSINESSOBJECTS->SUITE6

THIS WILL DO THE CLEAN INSTALL…

BEWARE:

PLEASE DO ALL THIS STUFF WITH THE SUPPORT OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEERS FROM BO.LIKE ME…HA…HA…HA :rotf:

OR ELSE U WILL GET INTO TROUBLES WITH UR OS…
