We just installed BO 4.0 FP 3 SP4. Our database source is SQL Server 2008.
We want to identify when a report is run which environment it was run in.
The Universe, Universe Connection, and Username will all be the same name in all envirnoments. I know I can use current variables to get those values, but since they are the same in all environments they won’t solve the problem.
I need the ability to get the database server name. I was reading about the Connection formula in a report and it says that for security reasons it doesn’t pass database host name, user and password.
Does anyone know a way to get that database host name passed through to the report. We want to add on the footer of the report the database host or server name to identify which environment a report was run on.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
