E1000 ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name

Hello,

I’m having problems logging into Business Objects after I’ve upgraded to version 5.1.2.

I get the following error message after I enter my username password:

E1000 ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name

Prior to upgrade everything was working fine.

I’m running Oracle client version 8.1.7.

I’ve checked listener process by running:

lsnrctl stop
lsnrctl start

lsnrctl status was showing that everything is running ok.

I’ve checked listener port on the local machine (port 1521) and it shows as being active.

There was nothing changed on the Oracle end.

Please help me with any suggestions you may have as to how to resolve this problem.
