Is it possible to download a full client report displayed in InfoView, to Excel 97 (SR1)?

Heh, I’ve been struggling with this one for months. Here is the best you can do : Have the endusers view the report in html format. Right click on the report, View Source, this will open notepad…Save as WHATEVER.HTML. Then you can simply open the html in excel 2000 which works VERY nicely. I spent many hours going through the report and adding in extra “buffer” blank cells to get the export to look right. If anyone has a better solution I’ll kiss your feet

One thing we’ve taught our users to do, is to click in the report (to make it the active frame), and then select from the File menu: Save As (and pick a location and name). This saves the active frame as an HTML document (similar to an earlier posting, but maybe a little easier).
As the earlier poster said, Excel 97 (on a pc, or Excel98 on mac) will open an HTML document quite nicely (you just have to remember to have the open look for all file types, not just .xl* files).
The only oddity our users have complained about is that the resultant report is treated in Excel as a set of merged cells. So, we tell our users to select the entire range, and do a Format - Cells, go to the Alginment tab, and de-select “Merge cells”. Then you can work with the report in Excel quite easily.

Thank you. This would work if our end users would have access to full client. This particular group will not.
Trying Ian’s method.

peggy,
Not directly, when you have an full client report open in WEBI, the download function will allow you download the .rep file on to your machine and then you have log on to the fullclient ,open the report, edit dataprovider, export to xls. This way it will dump all the data that you have in the dataprovider into excel sheet . Remember any filter that you may have applied on the BO report will not be applied, or any variable that you may have created on the report will not be downloaded to the excel sheet.
