Distributed installation

If we don’t have access to the web server (IHS) and appserver (websphere), for successful deployment / installation of BO 6.1b, what are the files and input we have to give to the webapps team (the big people), after and before installing 6.1b on the UNIX box

Any input on this would be of great help

Thanks in advance

Hi All

I do know that this is a dumb question, but I need your views on this.

Webapps team is forming there own regime.

so we will not have any privelege in deploying our war files in the apps server from our side. we have to give all the needed input to them, they will do it for us.

what is the best process to go about this.

let us assume that our envornment is up and running and we are moving from 6.1a to 6.1b or 6.5 do we have redploy the war files, or the does the old war files still hold good.

am thinking loud, but ???

thanks in advance

Hi Guys, is there a way to make sure, whatever .war files we are creating is right, before giving it to the webapps team, please let us know thanks in advance

There is no way to ensure something is right until you run it. If you Web Apps team won’t let you run it, you have a big problem.

Yes Steve, that is the way it is going to be it seems, Webapps will not let us do anything on apps server or the webserver, it will be done by that, them is the direction here things are heading.

we own only our webiserver,

anyway thanks for your valuable input

But, isn’t the point of a team like that to work for the customer (end-users). It seems like this group will be a very destructive force for your company.

If business intelligence is truly strategic within your company, then you need to fight for this. Otherwise, you’re in for a disaster.
