Displaying empty Monthly buckets

I have a cross tab report which displays months on the top and data in the body. This goes out for 12 months.

But if I do not have any information the monthly buckets don’t appear. I need to display all 12 months regardless if there is data in there or not.

How can I include data for all months in a crosstab, even if a particular month has no data? One way to do this is to create a second data provider using only the months. Then link (or “merge”) the second data provider (query) with the first data provider. Use the month column from the second data provider in the cross tab.
