Disable access to Infoview - how?

Hi all,

We’re running BO6.1b on Oracle 9.2.

I have a user ‘TEST’ who is given the profile ‘Versatile’. This user has inherited all the universes, domains etc. and can pretty much see everything. However; i have disabled configuration for all products in the ‘Configuration’ tab for this user, but the user can still log into Infoview and refresh reports etc. I have done the ‘refresh’ at WILoginServer on the server itself and even left it an hour to see if it made any difference.

How do i prevent access to Infoview for a user? (Imagine i don’t want to delete the user outright or disable them) is this possible using user rights?

As you discribend …it should work -
a) Is this user listed more than once in your Repository? than you have to check him everywhere…
b) Are you using the right Repository?

Hi,

The user is listed once in the repository (trying to delete it tells me i have to use Delete User…so he is the only instance).

We only run one security domain here.

How long did you wait from the change of the privileges until the test. It can take up to 10 minutes for the WebI server to see these changes.

I guess I’m missing the point.

What is this user supposed to do? Without infoview, access to universes or reports is pointless. Infoview is the base product.

What are you trying to accomplish, exactly? :?

I left the attempt to log back in for at least an hour (given our installation has the refresh set to 10 minutes - i expect it to have worked by then, and i did a manual refresh anyway).

Our ability to have these users prepared and waiting in the repository for their activation might necesitate such a requirement - although it seems i could simply ‘disable’ their login access until the time comes. Seems odd though that with everything disabled you could still access Infoview…

I suppose we will continue and simply ‘disable login’ for these users until their time.
