Have you tried creating a report with these three elements and then doing a
“Set As Master” or “Insert Break” on Customer?

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you need a cross-tab report. You can create this easily using the slice and dice panel. Simply drag your Transaction Type dimension to the column quadrant, and you should be all set. For each distinct value of Transaction Type, you will have a column.
