Different Document Domain - no LOV

Hi,

We are getting strange error message when trying to import a universe to Reporter. It says ‘Document Domain Account is different. You cannot import the List of Values’. The strange part is, we only have one document domain. I have tried scan and repair, but BO does not detect any errors. I have deleted the universe from the repository and re-exported it, but no luck. Any ideas???

I’ve had the same problem. It occurred when I hardcoded another universe in the universe I was designing. With hardcoding I mean including with the ‘Edit/Links’ dialog and than ‘include’ an added universe. This copies an existing universe in your new one. I had edited some lov in this included universe. Those edited lov were no longer available in my new universe; when I imported the new universe it also said ‘Document Domain Account is different.’

I think it means it can’t find the lov in the document domain. Somewhere during the hardcoding, the references to the lov in the document domain must have been lost.
When I edited the lov in the new universe, it worked fine.

It says ‘Document Domain Account is different. You cannot import the List of Values’.
It’s not the universe, but the LOV files already on the computer that are causing the problem. It’s been awhile since I saw this glitch but as I recall, if you nuke the LOV files on the client computer trying to receive the Universe, it should import them fine the next time. They should be in the USERDOCS directory in one of the subdirectories there as I recall.

Have no idea what the bug is, but it does pop up from time to time. Hope that works…

That was not the problem, but I found a solution. The strange part about this was that this universe did not export any LOV with the universe. So, on a whim I tried creating one for one of my objects and selecting ‘Export with Universe’.
That seems to have worked. Go figure.

Oh, wait. Now it seems to be coming back to me more. What you said seems to trigger the thought. It MIGHT have been that if you HAD an LOV from a previous incarnation of the Universe and now no longer had it (though it was still on the client machine). The download would notice the old LOV, look for an update, not find it and get confused. Nuking the old (like I did) or giving the Universe a definitive list of LOV files to expect (like you did), cured the confusion.

Whatever…
