Hi,
Do any of you guys have a document listing the differences between WEBI & Full Client Business Objects?
Thanks

I asked the same question of tech support and got the following response…

Hope this helps,
Jodie

What are the main differences between the “Full” and “Thin” client (WebIntelligence)?
Resolution
Some of the main differences between full and thin client are listed below:-

***Full-client features that are not available through WEBINTELLIGENCE 2.0 (and suggested workarounds): ***

Note that “full client workaround” means that the limitation can be alleviated by building a BUSINESSOBJECTS report and exporting it to WEBINTELLIGENCE users:

  • Multi data provider full client workaround - Multi tab full client workaround
  • Multiblock structure full client workaround - Scheduling from within WEBINTELLIGENCE full client workaround (i.e., you can schedule the equivalent BUSINESSOBJECTS reports).

Note that the capability to schedule a WEBINTELLIGENCE document from within WEBINTELLIGENCE is part of WebIntelligence 2.5. - OLAP ACCESS PACK full client workaround - Alerters and ranking full client workaround - Edit SQL

  • Invoke stored procedure full client workaround - Create user variables full client workaround - Access to BUSINESS MINER.

Could someone just post it to the list as there seems to be quite a lot of interest in it?

PLEASE!! No more “me too” messages to the list. If you want a copy of Paula’s document, email her directly. I realize many people haven’t had a chance to learn mailing list etiquette, but come on, folks, this is basic common sense.

Paul–

Thanks for the sanity check. List members, please, when responding to an individual, respond directly to that person rather than just clicking “reply” or the equivalent. Let’s try to keep BUSOB-L messages relevant and meaningful.

[And, Paula, if you are able to share your document with the list in general, I think that would be great.]

Thanks for your help!
