IDT is way more complex, but allows for multi-souce based universes (=virtual datamart), and is the go forward tool for universes.
SAP BI 4.x is 64-bit server software, Webi has a new charting engine, DesignStudio runs on that platform, monitoring is included, offering also true E2E tracing, direct connectivity from Webi to SAP BEx queries (via BICS), etc. Besides XI 3.x is EOL…
