Deski crash when saving document; network drive

DeskI crashes at some installations when saving a report on a network drive; interestingly, this happens only with some installations.

I have searched the BO Knowledge Base and found a possible solution proposed by BO: making sure that the user has admin rights (read/write) on the network drive.

These users do have these rights, DeskI crashes anyway (c0000005, EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION).

Do you have some proposals what else I could try?

Thanks!

Here’s a possible solution in BOB’s Downloads.

In our case DeskI also crashes when just saving the report (as well as “Save as…” ).

BTW: concerning the write/read access: say, drive N: is the network drive. Does the user need write/read access to the entire drive or is it sufficient to have write/read access to, say, N:\BO-Documents ?

Thanks!

Try deleting all the files in the WINDOWS\TEMP folder - check to see if any other temp folders are used and delete the files there too. You will need to shut down Deski first.

This worked for me.
