Hi ALL,
I want to create a Date Prompt that has the default values to ‘ALL’ ,if the users selects this default value ‘ALL’ then he should be able to see all the date values for that date column.
On added complexity… you cannot use “ALL” with a date prompt, as ALL is a character string and data types must match. You either need to convert your date to a string (which has implications of its own) or use what some people call a “Magic Date” to substitute for all values. This date is just a date that will never exist (often something like ‘1/1/1900’) and it is processed with the same logic linked in the FAQ in the prior post.
Thanks a lot Dave Rathbun. I always love your posts. Just saw one of your artice on magic date. It was very good.
I will be using a default value instead of making to ‘ALL’.
