Default template

I remember a while back seeing information on how to change the default template to a specific new format the users desire. Was there a tech paper on that? Does anyone have that information?

Thanks,
Tim

I modified the default template to the format I wanted however, the notes I remember seeing were about specific actions on columns etc. If all you need to change is the default format, open the default template file from the templates folder. Modify the example table to the format you want (i.e. color, font, border etc.) then save the file. Now everytime you build a report using the default, it will apply those changes. Michele Robertson

Tim-
If you are referring to the defaults that are set for the report formats. This is what I have done to change it. I opened the default.rep which is in the Business Objects template directory. I edited the rep file, saved it and also saved it as the default.tmp file. Now when I create a report the default formats will be read from the updates that I made to the default files.

You can also go in Tools Options New Documents and set a template as the default.

Hope this helps…
