“I run a query in BO, export to DDE, paste link to xls. I run a second query in BO which has MORE rows than the first, but it will only export as many as the first query??”

that’s interesting … does it behave the same way if you close/reopen business objects between queries?

Thanks for the quick reply.
We just double checked. When I closed out of BO, opened it up, ran a report with a different prompt, the xls DID NOT automatically update itself. I did an update to it and yes it reacts the same. The first query had 86 rows, the second had 115, but only 86 were updated after the second query. :?

Wonder if Excel is locking the file, thus your export is not really working at all, you’re just seeing the same 86 rows from the 1st query.
Try shutting down excel between the two querys
Also what version of BOBJ?

We did try that. When you close excel down and reopen it, it asks you if you want to Update with the most recent information or not. When we say yes, it still only keeps the 86 rows instead of the 115.
And we’re using BO v5.1.7.
