Database Upgrade

Hello all!

We are doing a database upgrade from Oracle 10.5 to Oracle 10.7. Some of the tablenames have changed so I have to go into designer, rename the tables and reexport the universes. Does anyone know of any tools or any way of regenerating the sql for each query without having to pull the query off the repository, rerun, purge, and reexport each query? This would save me about 2 days worth of work!!

Thanks,

Julie

Hi, Julie.

I can’t think of anything right now except maybe you can write a script that can automate this procedure for you.

Also, don’t forget about the option available from the Query Panel: “Do Not Retrieve Data.” Using this option will still allow you to regenerate the SQL, but it won’t bring back any data. It will leave the structure of reports, and you won’t need to purge any data!

Cheers,
Luis Gonzalez
