Dashboard Design

Hi

I am using Xcelsius 2008… I have a excel with 7 tabs. Each tab contains data along with one or two graphs in it…

Now I need to convert it into Dashboard… There is a tab option in Xcelsius through with I can design my dashboard…

But is this a right way… I mean is there a better way to design it.

Thanks

You could although switching tabs is very memory intensive.
You could also look at a modular approach - linking dashboards via Flash Variables.

Hi

Sorry… but could you please explain a bit more how to use Flash variables in achieving it.

Also instead of Tabs… i was thinking of using Label Menu… and then changing the graphs…based on selection through dynamic visibility… I know it is a little bit heavy for dashboad…

Thanks

This explains it better than I have time to:-

I have seen many, many, issues occur when dashboards get too big ;).

Hi

I am using Accordion Menu for my labels in my dashboard… for example

North
Region 1

South
Region 1
Region 2

I am using Dynamic visibility to show different graphs for North/Region 1 and South Region 1 and Region 2

My problem is the Dynamic key…
IF i select North Region1 is gives me position as 1
and South Region 1 is also giving me position 1

how do i get different values for region 1. is there any other way to do it.

Thanks

May be you can make use of the combination of Category label destination and Destination!!

Don’t use the position - use label instead and make your lables unique.
