Crazy Bug using BO 651 Full client : menu line out of window

A crasy bug happenned yesterday on my BO 651 Full client : My menu bar has moved on the top of the windows (see the screencap) and only the bottom of it is visible on the right top corner of my screen. No way to move it to make it visible again. I have deinstalled BO 651, cleaned registry but when reinstalled BO from scratch, still the same bug ! Help :wah:

Hi,

What part of registry did you clean? I suppose that you remove this branch

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects

However I believe that the position of the toolbars in BO are controlled in the settings in this registry branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 6.0\default\BusinessObjects\Application Preferences\BusinessReporter\BusinessObjects

Please note the difference between HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

So for the successful and complete uninstallation of BO and getting rid of all BO settings, also the above registry branch should have been removed.

Hi,

I am guessing it will work…

Can you change the display properties of your machine temporarily, so that the menu appears fully and then easily you can drag it to the required place…
After that you can reset the display settings to your original settings.

Hello,

I have deleted the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 6.0\default\BusinessObjects\Application Preferences\BusinessReporter\BusinessObjects directory and I have restarted BO reporter. I didn’t deinstalled BO and the toolbar seems good now.

Can anyone tellme how to do registry cleanup?
I am new to BO and recently started reading these posts which is so helpful for a naive person like me.
