copying the repositry for new install

Morning all,

can anyone remeber where to find the steps for copying the repositry so that a new version can be installed.
We outsource our IT so i need to give them instructions on how to do this amd thought the real manual would be better than my memory.
Thanks

1.what is the BO Version you are using
2.Is it going to migration of BO Version or Migration of repository to another Database.

Actually a very good question: I was sure this was covered in the migration manual, but I can’t find it!

So basically what you need to do:
• make a backup copy of the repository databases of BusinessObjects 6.5
• establish connectivity to the newly copied security, document, and
universe domain databases (ie. create a new ODBC connection to this backup).
• In Designer, change the pointers within the security domain away from the old database to the backup database.

Not sure where to find the official doc explaining this (if there is one…)

BOB has an entry in the Supervisor FAQ sticky (at the top of the Supervisor forum) for how to move your repository.

And, therefore, moving this topic to the Supervisor forum.
