Commas and Decimal Points switched in 5.0

Quite frequently when using version 5 the commas and decimal points are switched. Everywhere a comma should be a decimal point is displayed and everywhere a decimal point should be a comma is displayed. This only happens in version 5. You must reboot your PC to clear up the problem. Has anybody ever seen anything like this?

Yes, we see that from time to time also. Usually restarting BO works but sometimes you also have to reboot the PC. I haven’t heard of any other solutions as yet.

Greg - I had this the last week !

And re-booting was the only way to resolve it. I tried reformatting cells as currency/number/whatever and still got commas instead of decimal points. It only happened on ONE PC out of 12 identical installations and hasn’t happened since. If you find out what it is let me know.

Darren.

This is a product defect in version 5 and assigned Bug #39242 and is supposed to be fixed in version 5.0.3. The official word from the helpdesk is restart the app. However, we seemed to resolve this problem by applying a format to the numeric objects in Designer.

Good luck,

We had the same problem. The solution was posted a couple of months ago and it took care of our problem. Here is the solution:

In the .sbo file under BO/DataAccess, there’s a parameter called InitNumericSeparator. Have this parameter equal to ‘,’. It’s probably set to ‘.,’ at the moment.

We use Oracle so our sbo file was oracle.sbo.

Hope this helps!
