Changing Passwords

Currently, we have WebI 6.1b set up in DEV, QA, and PROD.

The users are unable to change their passwords following login.

After being directed to the ‘Change Password’ page, an attempted changed password produces this error:
“ID_ERR_INF_AN_ERROR_HAS”

Once you click “OK” (what else are you going to do?), a second error appears:
“Cannot change password: Old password is incorrect.”

However, the old password is correct because it’s what was used to login in the first place. The DEV environment works fine, but QA and PROD are having issues? Any suggestions?

BTW, there is no problem changing passwords in full-client.

T.M.L.,

Welcome to BOB.

Have you opened Full Client on the QA or Prod servers and tried to change the password there? That may reveal something. Also, make sure that the bomain.key on those machines are the correct ones, pointing to the correct repository.

Yes, we have been able to successfully change passwords in all environments using full-client.

The bomain keys are fine as well because after a successful WebI login, I am able to access the appropriate universe.

:reallymad: :hb:

OK, a few more questions.

:arrow_forward: Are all 3 environments accessing the same repository?
:arrow_forward: If yes, then is the connection to the repository database defined exactly the same on all 3 machines?
:arrow_forward: If they’re accessing different repositories, then does your account have write access to each repository database?

No.

Each environment has its own repository. Each environment, repository, and universe are identical. The users are identical as well.

My account should be configured to have write access to all 3 repositories.

BTW, thanks for the welcome a few messages back.

I am having the same problem.

Login in to Webi is fine, when asked to change the password I get the same error: “Old password not recognised”

I only have on environment so don’t think it’s due be due to connection problems.

I was thinking it could be some conflict with NT Authentication (which I don’t use but thought there might be a setting somewhere I have left in wrong position)

If you have any ideas pleas let me know.

Ken

What version are you on? If it’s 6.1a, you might want to check the bug list. This sounds like it might be a bug.

I’m running 6.1b. I’ve checked the bugs and can’t find anything.

It’s 2 o’clock now and my boss wants it fixed before 5…
