A question I have never been asked before…
Can you change the order that Data Providers appear from within the Data Manager? Or are we stuck with the order in which they were developed?

Pretty much stuck with that order. If they are universe-based, you can use either built-in options or this utility to copy the data providers in the order you want, point report objects to the new data provider, then delete the original. Nasty at best, and for what reason? Aesthetics? Not a good enough reason in my opinion.

If the problem is that the first data provider depends on the data of the second data provider then you do not need to be worried. BO is smart enough to realize this and it will run the 2nd data provider first and then the 1st one.
