Cannot open document due to an unknown error

We started getting this error a few months ago. I have called it in to Tech Support (#53661) but haven’t gotten a satisfactory answer. We found that the same report can be opened by some users, but not others but it has nothing to do with the BO security - the other General Supervisor in my firm can no longer open reports I created. We are currently using BO4.1.2 on WinNT4. When we were using BO4.1.1 on NT3.51 earlier this year, the problem did not exist.

We are currently using BO4.1.2 on WinNT4.

Go to BO4.1.3 since there are security fixes that might fix this problem. We have been using this release on WinNT4 and found no problems sharing documents.

Dear Barbara,

Unfortunately, I have no solution.
But I wanted to say that I have exactly the same problem than you have. No solution until today …
The only thing I observe: only one user seems to be able to create documents noone can open anymore “for unknown reason”.

Maybe a beginning of an explanation …
The guy at our office who produces regularly documents that cannot be opened again works often on 2 PCs concurrently, even if he does not open twice the same document … he sais.

Barbara, do you have same conditions with the user generating the corrupted documents ? (BO sais that document is corrupted if this message arrives)
