Cannot launch java report panel

Hi ALL,

When i try to open BI lauchpad to open webintelligence, i get error saying CANNOT LAUNCH JAVA REPORT PANEL, INSTALL JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE.
Please share your ideas on this.

Well - it is, as stated: Install JAVA VM. JVM is missing

The JVM would be usually used to create/modify a webireport; but this is an add on to the used browser. So it needs to be installed and updated …

You may change settings within the user properties (preferences in lauchpad) not to use JAVA for viewing the report…
There are several webintelligence options, (hmtl; pdf) but with java (= applet) you have all the features. Without you have less, but maybe enough.

Thank you very much for replying.

I have uninstalled Java from my computer-> Control panel.
Could you please suggest me what version of java have to be installedin my machine . I use BO 4.0.
The JVM could be downloaded from which site?Also what version of JVM have to be downloaded. Kindly send the link.
When i login as Administrator in BI Launchpad 4.0-> preferences->webi->
View -> WEB
Modify(creating,editing and analyzing docs):->> Rich Internet Application
When viewing a document -> Use my preferred locale to format the data

above option could be seen in the preferences.
Why i am not able to see Other options of Viewer?
Where can i find them?

I would just download the version from the BO server, itself, as this normally works best.

It should attempt to install it when you go to open a Webi report, providing you have your preferences set correctly.
