What version? Where are you trying to do so? A little more (detailed) information would be helpful.

The version is BO XI R2 SP5 with SAP BW 3.0 SP5 Integration
We have created some test connections, which we want to delete now. But when I am trying to delete them, I am facing the mentioned error.

But where have you tried doing so? In the CMC, or in Designer? In this case, try the other. With what account? Use the Administrator user.

Have tried to delete the universe connection from CMC as Administrator user. Are you suggesting to delete the same from Designer?

Check the User Security for Administrator on Universe Connection - It should be Full control.
Otherwise Administrator can not delete the connection.

Yes, try from designer instead. It might be worthwhile checking out the rights, like suggested, although the error message you get suggests something else. You only get this error trying to delete the connection, or are there other situations as well?

Hi
Did you guys manage to resolve this?
I am getting the same error - or at least a similar error trying to delete a universe.
Please help!!!
Thanks

Did you have to cope with this error using the Administrator account himself?
Double check the rights of this user on the universe…
Hi
I think it’s related to daylight savings time and the Java version being used.
I will check a few things and let you all know.
Thanks

Sarah,
I get the same problem trying to delete a universe folder from the CMC.
I would appreciate it if you find a solution/cause that you post it.
My error just recently started occuring, so perhaps your JAVA/daylight saving lead is the right one.
cheers

Hi Tom
It seems to definitely be related to daylight savings and the version of Java you are using.
I got this from BO Support:
When I first updated the java version it seemed to make no difference, I had to manually set up the JAVA_HOME environment variable not sure why! Then I also changed the time on the server where I removed the tick in the daylight savings box tried a few things and put it back. Then it seemed to work.
It’s all ok now
Hope this helps,
cheers

Thanks Sarah,
What I ended up doing is apply the timezone update patch from the java website.

Hi tommy_b
Can you please confirm it’s this one??
JDK TSD Timezone Update Tool 1.3.18
I have downloaded it, and run the update as discussed:
java -jar tzupdater.jar -u
it worked OK as far as i can see - not sure where else to check??
I rebooted the server, restarted the services, but I still get the error??
Any hints or clues please??
Thanks

Are you applying it to the version of java BOXI uses?(check tomcat config)
if you have a default windows boxi install run java from here:
c:\Program Files\Business Objects\j2sdk1.4.2_08\bin

Hi tommy_b
I updated our java as per the suggestion from BO tech support (ARGH!) so no it’s not standard anymore. Sometimes their advice is worse than none! Sorry just having a winge!
OK so what I have done is taken away the new java installation and gone back to 1.4.xxx and applied the time zone patch as per your suggestion - all OK now Now just have to progress this to test and production!
Thanks so much for all the help and the quick responses!!!
