Can I change the Universe in a report

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the universe within a report without changing the report - we have a set of reports run frequently that are quite complicated and in order to speed reports generally we have created a new universe which is a subset of the original. I would dearly like to just ‘link’ the old reports to the new universe as it will save me weeks of effort.

If you want to do things manually rather than investigating the script that was linked in the prior post, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open your report
  2. Click the Data Manager button on the toolbar (looks like a cube)
  3. Notice where the universe name is listed… click the […] button next to it. This will open a list of available universes.
  4. Select the one you want to switch to
  5. Repeat for each data provider if you have more than one data provider in the document
  6. Save

These steps assume that you have access to both universes and that class and object names match across the two universes.
