Calculating Averages in a cell outside of a table

I have a simple problem. I am trying to calculate the average of a numeric column, but I want to display it outside the report in a cell. If I drag it out of the report and try to put in the cell it calculates the sum. I have tried all the various functions, but not been able to find an answer.

Hi

You can try this out.
Apply Average on the column.
Copy the whole table (by dragging with the crtl key pressed).
Format the copied table and check the FOLD option, uncheck the TABLE HEADER option.

This would resolve the problem.

Another thing you can do is in the designer, select “Average” as the aggregate function for that object.

Once you do that, it will show the average no matter where you drag it to.
